    In 2017, The Moonshiner’s Ball was the first festival that I covered as Capture Kentucky. I covered many shows and we featured many festivals on my old site,Unsung Melody, but most were out of state. As Capture Kentucky began to evolve into what you’re reading now, I quickly came to the realization that festivals like The Moonshiner’s Ball are way more important than large overpriced festivals. Mainly because there importance immediately impacts the culture that I care most about and that’s my community. My State. My friends.     2017 Pete Fest in Louisville, KY. Destigmatizing Mental Illness Through Music And Activism

    In the wake of a tragedy like the one The Jones family faced a mere nine months ago, most would have shut down, tried not to think about it or drowned in an endless sea of questions, what ifs and the like. The Jones took a different approach to their son’s death, they decided they had to take their experience and educate others about the terrible disease that depression is and all its repercussions. Pete had struggled with depression since he was a teenager. He was a gifted student and loved by many, his death was a shock. He had struggled with a sadness he didn’t understand.

    The Moonshiner’s Ball 2017 Announces Final Lineup. Join Us In Irvine, KY!

    Singer-songwriter / cellist Ben Sollee and outlaw country troubadour Justin Wells lead a strong wave of artist announcements completing the lineup for the 4th Annual Moonshiner’s Ball.  Additional musical performers include Quiet Hollers, May Erlewine, Driftwood Gypsy, HuDost, Matt Fassas Trip, Solid Rock’It Boosters, The Baja Yetis, Restless Leg String Band, DeBraun Thomas Trio, Trucker Hat Coalition and Kevin Dalton & the Tuesday Blooms.  Also announced are spoken word artists, Eric Scott Sutherland and Bianca Spriggs and Yogis Delia Rose Gibbs, Sam Young and Jamie Brown These artists will join an already stellar lineup of fast-rising nationally-touring performers including
