Ashley McBryde Delights Prestonsburg Alongside Nicholas Jamerson At The Mountain Arts Center
Tonight’s near-capacity show at the Mountain Arts Center saw Ashley McBryde bringing her Girl Going Nowhere Tour into East Kentucky along with Prestonsburg’s own Nicholas Jamerson. It is always good to be back at one of my favorite venues in east Kentucky, well for that matter not just Kentucky but just about anywhere. In my opinion, you would be hard-pressed to find a better thousand seat venue than the Mountain Arts Center. Beautiful building, top-notch staff and incredible sound and lights! But enough of that, let’s talk about tonight’s music. As I said earlier Nicholas Jamerson is from right here in the city of Prestonsburg, he’s covered a lot of…

Top 15 Performances We’re Looking Forward To At Master Musicians Festival In Somerset!
I’ve been blessed to be able to work with Master Musicians Festival. I was given the honor to be their staff photographer this year by Tiffany Finley. Many of you know Tiffany, but for those that don’t, she is the President of Master Musicians Festival. She is also an avid supporter of local music and all things Kentucky. What makes Master Musicians Festival (MMF) so unique? The Festival is ran by ALL volunteers. That’s right. ALL volunteers. From the local roller derby tending bar, high school football teams setting up and tearing down the stages, marching bands providing golf cart rides to folks like the Don Franklin family of dealerships…

Oh What A Year In Pictures! Capture Kentucky 2018 Edition
I debated on putting this photo recap together, but oh what a year it was! We had a ton of fun and there were waaaaaay more photos that I wanted to include, but I tried to just do some highlights and favorites for everyone. My goodness, Kentucky is absolutely loaded with talent and we had an almost overwhelming amount of support in 2018. We truly can’t thank you enough and we promise to work even harder in 2019 to not only cover your favorite artists, but to create events and to shine a little light on the wonderful talent in Kentucky. Thanks for everything and we’ll see you at the…

Cinder & Smoke Fest Delivers A Community Effort That Felt More Like A Family Reunion Than A Music Festival
If you’re reading this, thank you. Here at Capture Kentucky, building a strong community of like-minded individuals who share their affinity for Kentucky is the core of what we are trying to do. From that simple idea, the Cinder & Smoke Fest was born and I don’t think we could have ever imagined the outpouring of love that took place at Proud Mary BBQ on Sunday. Especially for an event in its first year with a small budget and a free show. For me, it was validation for what we’re doing. I feel that people are seeing the benefits of us all working together and it’s a beautiful thing. My…

Cinder & Smoke Fest Promises Great Food, Cold Drinks And The Perfect Soundtrack To Summer
Here at Capture Kentucky, we do our best to shine a light on Kentucky’s greatest asset, her people. That’s the reason we decided to create the Cinder & Smoke Fest. We wanted to create an opportunity to bring people together while allowing folks that are way more talented than us, to have a stage and a crowd. Mother Nature was unkind to us in July, but thankfully we were able to regroup and focus on a new date. On Sunday, August 26th, Proud Mary BBQ in Lexington, KY will host our inaugural Cinder & Smoke Fest. We are bringing in some of our favorite Kentucky bands and artists from all…

Lexington Unites In Love, Respect And Music For A Celebration Of The Highwaymen And The Women Who Loved Them
Capture Kentucky was created as a creative outlet for my photography. I wanted the opportunity to try my hand at photographing as many different events and attractions as possible. I simply wanted to grow as an artist myself. I knew that I would eventually end up leaning on music, but what I didn’t know, was just how much Capture Kentucky would mean to everyone else. On Sunday, August 12th, the musical community came out in full force and drove home just how much the work we do here means. This article has been a huge challenge for me because I want to make sure the community knows that the love…
