Jeremy Short of Short & Company Heading To Memphis For The International Blues Challenge
Jeremy Short, the Jackson, Kentucky “original recipe” singer-songwriter and genre-bending guitar blazer, has quickly risen to the top-shelf of must-hear players on both the local and international scene. First qualifying for the International Blues Challenge, a world-wide competition put on by The Blues Foundation, in 2016 and again in 2017, Short semi-finaled both years he’s been there, ranking him among the top 32 independent blues acts on the planet. Now he’s going back in 2019, determined to make the third time the charm. “You can’t compete three years in a row. So, I had to sit out 2018, which I think made me want it even more. I’ve spent the…

Cinder & Smoke Fest Promises Great Food, Cold Drinks And The Perfect Soundtrack To Summer
Here at Capture Kentucky, we do our best to shine a light on Kentucky’s greatest asset, her people. That’s the reason we decided to create the Cinder & Smoke Fest. We wanted to create an opportunity to bring people together while allowing folks that are way more talented than us, to have a stage and a crowd. Mother Nature was unkind to us in July, but thankfully we were able to regroup and focus on a new date. On Sunday, August 26th, Proud Mary BBQ in Lexington, KY will host our inaugural Cinder & Smoke Fest. We are bringing in some of our favorite Kentucky bands and artists from all…

Kentucky’s Short & Company Release Debut Album, Lost in a Spin, March 29
Raised in Jackson, Kentucky (Sturgill Simpson’s hometown), singer-songwriter and genre-bending guitar blazer, Jeremy Short, has quickly risen to the top shelf of must-hear players. Short was raised in a musical family where music poured out everywhere – at church, the piano, the dinner table – you name it. The son of a rock ‘n’ roll drummer, he first found his professional groove as lead guitarist and frontman for the R&B horn band, Downtown King, and the lead guitarist for Sasha Colette’s red-hot Americana backing band, The Magnolias. Now armed with his own water-tight rhythm section, the twenty-something rounds out Short & Company with the talents of Trevor Litteral (bass, backing…
