Highlights From The Final Carl Casper Auto Show In Louisville, KY
The Carl Casper Custom Auto Show has been a tradition in Louisville, KY. In fact, this year’s edition was their 55th anniversary. The format was always the same. If it’s custom, cool, famous or beautiful…it’s welcome. And let me just say, they came in droves. This show was PACKED full of some of the most beautiful vehicles that my eyes have ever seen.
This year the Kentucky Fair & Expo Center held the final gigantic show. With an eclectic array of cars covered most of the Expo Center, as well as hosting the Low Rider Hopping Nationals inside of Freedom Hall.
Fan highlights this year included several movie cars
, Carl Casper Custom Cars, celebrity autographs and my personal favorite section, Koolsville. Fans were delighted to see the Batmobile, the Dukes of Hazzard’s General Lee, the iconic Dodge Charger from Fast and the Furious, Knight Rider’s K.I.T.T., and the intimidating black number 3 driven by NASCAR Legend Dale Earnhardt. But again, the old rods, rat rods and classic customs in the Koolsville wing stole the show for me.
The attendance was impressive and the show seemed to be flawless, so one can only hope that the powers that be, make the decision to return this iconic event to our Commonwealth.
